A dedicated family man and long-time supporter of health and human services for children and families in Los Angeles, Emmy-award winning Hollywood director Rob Schiller is again showing support for the work of Friends of the Family at its annual Families Matter Benefit and Celebration.
Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the 2014 Families Matter Benefit and Celebration is Friends of the Family's signature fundraising event and consistently earns rave reviews for providing a festive, sparkling, and inspiring evening including a dinner gala, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and the presentation of the 2014 leadership awards.
At this year’s event, the 2014 Spotlight Award was presented to actress and producer, Melissa Joan Hart, in recognition of the countless ways she uses her public platform to support causes that benefit children and families. We hope you will join us to pay tribute to her efforts and her support for the work of Friends of the Family.
“Congratulations to Melissa for receiving the 2014 Spotlight Award for her dedication and support for children and families who often face insurmountable demands of daily life,” said Schiller. “Having worked with Melissa professionally for many years, she is most deserving of this recognition,” he added.
Friends of the Family is a comprehensive family resource center known for pioneering innovative, practical programs where families are recognized as central to a child’s well-being and are supported to build on their skills and strengths. Founded in 1972, the organization is a safety net of support for over 5,000 community members each year.
When not on set directing popular sitcoms like Melissa & Joey, Schiller divides his time between own family and a wide variety of non-profit organizations, including the Jewish National Fund, where is serves as a board member.
