Gupta, a serial entrepreneur in the United States, is a philanthropist in his home town of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, India where he established the Hillary Clinton School of Nursing. Gupta discusses his future plans for the institution and how important quality education is to the people in Rampur. He is a vocal supporter of women’s education and also hopes to expand the intake of students of the nursing school from 40 to 100.
“I would like to see more and more children in the village, and especially the girls, get the quality education so they can get out of the village and improve their lives,” said Gupta.
In the interview, Gupta discusses other ways he would like to give back to IIT Kharagpur and his home town. He shares his philosophy of stewardship and would like to see others who graduate form IIT Kharagpur and the Hillary Clinton School of Nursing give back.
“IIT system is like our mother and we have to makes sure that we go there and visit and contribute as much as we can.”
