Southern Plumbing Is Now Carrying Tankless Hot Water Heaters
Houston, TX (PRWEB) March 28, 2014 -- Southern Plumbing now carries tankless hot water heaters, the company recently announced. Citing the tanks' improved energy efficiency, smaller size, and economic advantages, Southern Plumbing encourages business owners and homeowners to consider installing tankless hot water heaters.
Unlike traditional hot water heaters, tankless hot water heaters do not keep a reservoir of water hot at all times. Rather, they heat water up only as it is needed. Because tankless hot water heaters do not need to keep a pool of water hot continuously, they typically use much less energy than older models of hot water heater. Though they have no active reservoir of hot water, tankless hot water heaters don't run out of hot water, either—because they heat water on-demand, there is not supply of hot water to run out.
Tankless hot water heaters are up to 24 percent more efficient then regular ones. Southern Plumbing estimates that installation costs range between $835 and $1,063, and that a tankless hot water heater can potentially lower utility bills by 20%. Additionally, a tax rebate may be available, depending on the home's location. Tankless models tend to last much longer than regular ones while also taking up less space in the home. Tankless versions of hot water heaters virtually eliminate the risk of flooding from a burst tank.
Typically, tankless hot water heaters fall come in two different styles. Whole home units, which sit in a middle point of the building, provide hot water to all of the building's faucets. The alternative, point of use units, dispense hot water to a single faucet and are much more compact.
Tankless hot water heaters use either of two fuel systems: electric or natural gas. The choice depends on the unit's desired output volume and what type of unit is already in the building. During installation, the plumbing company will decide, based on the infrastructure already in place, what fuel and unit-type choices are best and how to go about the process.
