Upcoming Webinar from WPL Publishing to Focus on Mitigating, Managing Claims in Construction
Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 28, 2014 -- In less than two weeks, WPL Publishing will sponsor a webinar to help various types of professionals within the construction community minimize claims in their projects and best address the claims that do arise.
Mitigating and/or managing construction claims is a significant issue for owners, contractors, construction managers, and their representatives. The webinar is designed to educate these professionals about the issue, focusing on what construction claims are, how to keep problems in this area to a minimum, and what to do when claims do emerge. To register for the 90-minute event, scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT), visit http://tinyurl.com/mqj3avd.
During the webinar, entitled “Mitigating & Managing Construction Claims,” attendees will learn about how the method of approaching a project can impact claims. The program also will help attendees identify different types of contractor-based claims, draft contracts to minimize claims, describe interim means of resolving claims, and determine which means of claims resolution is best for their projects.
Addressing attendees will be Candace Matson, a partner at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP’s Los Angeles office. She represents owners, contractors, design professionals, lenders, investment funds, and others in various private and public contexts relating to design and construction, from pre-construction through project close-out and beyond. She furnishes advice and transactional services as well as representation as an advocate. In addition, she serves as an arbitrator and mediator of construction disputes, both privately and through the auspices of various providers of alternative dispute resolution.
Following Ms. Matson’s presentation, there will be an interactive 10-to-15 minute question-and-answer session addressing relevant topics.
Webinar tuition is based on location, not number of participants, so each registration site can have multiple participants for one low price. To register, visit http://tinyurl.com/mqj3avd.
