AttorneyOne.com, a recognized authority on law, updated the website recently and now, can actively provide an expert opinion in view of the recent news on Yasmin Side Effect and lawsuits.

As of February 10, Bayer had reached agreements, without admission of liability, to settle the claims of approximately 8,250 claimants in the U.S., alleging injuries from Yasmin and/or Yaz, for a total amount of about US$1.69 billion, as stated in its Annual Report 2013. Yasmin, which was approved by the FDA in 2001, and its sister drug Yaz, which was approved in 2006, are oral contraceptives that combine estrogen and a fourth generation progestin, drospirenone, to prevent pregnancy. Yasmin and Yaz are manufactured by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals.

According to an article published* in February, in the British Journal of Family Medicine, “GPs have been ordered to inform patients that they are almost twice as likely to develop blood clots if they take some of the most popular birth-control tablets, including Yasmin, Femodene and Marvelon, compared with older products.”

Taking into consideration the latest developments, AttorneyOne.com updated the website and, now, can actively provide an expert opinion including how to get in contact with legal counsel easily and inexpensively in cases of severe complications, allegedly from Yasmin. Sean Burke, director of Media Relations at AttorneyOne.com, adds that the relevant information illustrates that people continue to file Yasmin and Yaz lawsuits. "For that reason", he continues, "our focus should squarely fall on getting the word out and assisting people in finding the right legal assistance.”

Court data updated on March 13, by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, indicate that there are 9,550 cases currently pending in the Yasmin/Yaz Multidistrict Litigation (MDL 2100, US District Court, Southern District of Illinois).

AttorneyOne.com has further information on Yasmin lawsuits including how to get in contact with legal counsel.
