MWH Presents 'Kosovo Sustainable Energy Projects' at REM 2014 conference
Milan (PRWEB) March 27, 2014 -- MWH Global, the wet infrastructure leader has participated in the 2014 REM – Renewable Energy Mediterranean Conference and Exhibition, held in Ravenna from 26 to 27 March.
Alessandro Tarantini, Energy business line manager of MWH in Italy, has presented the “Kosovo Sustainable Energy project” (KoSEP), a 12 million Euro credit facility initiated by the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Facility) to fund sustainable energy investments in the SME and housing sectors in Kosovo.
MWH has been appointed Project Consultant in charge of assisting with the implementation and monitoring of the Facility. MWH will assist the Bank during all stages of the project implementation and provide the necessary technical support needed to ensure the participating banks are complying with the eligibility criteria of the Facility. MWH will also confirm technical eligibility for all type of sub-projects and approve payments of Incentive Fees to Sub-borrowers.
KoSEP is one of other energy efficiency projects that MWH has been carrying out for the EBRD in transition countries, where the bank has established specific credit lines to support the local energy efficiency and renewable energy business. Other examples are TURSeff(Turkey Private Sector Sustainable Energy Finance Facility) and MIDSeff (Mid-size Sustainable Energy Financing Facility), where MWH also plays the role of Project Consultant.
The EBRD was the first international financial institution to establish a specialized energy efficiency team in 1994, and has accumulated valuable expertise in innovative energy efficiency financing.
Alessandro Tarantini, Lead Engineer of the Facility, said: “This project confirms the long term trusted collaboration that we have built with EBRD within these sustainable energy financing facilities. KoSEP, specifically, aims to help a country with unsustainable and inconsistent energy supplies, scarce natural resources and geographic connectivity, and in a bid for compliance with EU directives”.
