Delta Dental Awards Grant to First Florida Mission of Mercy Event
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) March 27, 2014 -- The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation today announced a $10,000 grant to the first-ever Florida Mission of Mercy, a program of the Florida Dental Association.
The Florida Mission of Mercy will be held March 28 and 29 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. Dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and community activists, all of whom are volunteering their time, will provide free dental treatment to the region's underserved and low-income population. Event coordinators estimate that nearly 2,000 people will receive treatment.
"We are excited to sponsor Florida's first Mission of Mercy event," said John Yamamoto, DDS, vice president of Professional Services for Delta Dental Insurance Company and its affiliated companies, which oversee the foundation and its philanthropic efforts. "This event provides important oral care to many in need who would otherwise go without, due to financial barriers."
