The International Tour Management Institute (ITMI) Reveals the Psychology of Group Travel in Its New Group Tour Leader Certification Program
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 28, 2014 -- The International Tour Management Institute (ITMI), the premier training and certification program for tour directors and guides, announces the launch of its first Group Tour Leader Certification Program.
“Group leaders are individuals who lead tour groups for religious or fraternal organizations, students groups, professional associations or private groups," says ITMI CEO Ted Bravos. “Group leaders are responsible for the welfare of the participants and the positive outcome of the experience.”
The ITMI Group Tour Leader Certification Program provides group leaders with the knowledge and understanding that allows them to feel confident and well-prepared for their role. The curriculum addresses the following:
• The psychology of group travel, a critical aspect of a successful tour;
• Working with a tour director or a tour guide, and the differences between the two;
• How to work with the motor coach driver;
• How to work with suppliers;
• How to deal with disabled participants;
• How to effectively navigate through unexpected and challenging situations.
During this hands-on course, which takes place on a motor coach, the group leader learns everything he or she needs to know to ensure that all tour participants enjoy a safe and positive experience. All classes are held in California.
