Photography Company Offers a New Public Resource for Student Photographers
Queensland, Australia (PRWEB) March 31, 2014 -- The difference in quality between a snapshot and a portrait is easy to observe, and a quality portrait is something only the trained eye and skill of a professional photographer can achieve. Margherita Gregory, of Kiss Photography remembers the turning point when her interest in photography became a career path, thanks to encouragement from teachers, and now she has created a free resource to help would-be photographers follow their dreams of studying photography in a diploma- and degree-level photography course.
Gregory’s international directory of universities and colleges is intended to be a starting point for amateur photographers interested in making a career out of their hobby. “Over the past several months, I have collected the names and contact information of more than 330 colleges and universities that offer diploma- and degree-level photography classes,” said Gregory. “I remember the encouragement I received 30 years ago when I began studying photography, and I hope to help inspire someone to take the next step like I did.”
Photography has been a passion for Gregory since she was 16. Living in a small country town, she only realized that photography could be a career when she started tertiary study at the Queensland College of Art. “My experience at college is what gave me the confidence to follow my passion into a career,” said Gregory. “My teachers and fellow students helped me understand my possibilities.” Gregory has created the directory to help give the same experience to another generation of photographers.
A photographer of people for the past 25 years, Gregory’s Kiss Photography is a specialist family portrait studio in Brisbane Queensland established more than 10 years ago. Gregory prides herself on making the portrait process fun and relaxing – even for reluctant subjects, like bored teens, antsy children, and men dreading a stuffy indoor studio. “I know how to make the sitting quick and fun,” said Gregory. “And, with my 100 percent All Smiles™ Guarantee, you know every member of the family will look gorgeous in the portrait.”
