iBwave Mobile Planner Now Available to Make Small Cell Network Design Simple
Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) April 10, 2014 -- iBwave, the standard for in-building wireless software and training globally, is thrilled to announce the commercial availability of iBwave Mobile Planner, the mobile app that greatly simplifies the design of indoor small cell networks. The app generated significant interest from carriers, OEM’s and system integrators of all regions of the world during demonstrations at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona.
“The rise of small cells is dramatically changing the wireless planning landscape,” says Gordon Mansfield, Chair of the Small Cell Forum. “The industry needs tools and methods to ease and accelerate the upcoming volume of small cell deployments.”
The user-friendly functionality of the app simplifies the design work for indoor small cell networks. Technicians with basic IT or Wi-Fi experience can create their designs in a few key steps: choose floor plan and site parameters; select and place small cells; and visualize network coverage contours. They can then save and upload their designs for retrieval by other teams. Since designs are created on-site, the amount of time and costs for small cell planning are significantly reduced.
“iBwave was founded on simplifying and automating the otherwise cumbersome task of indoor network design,” says Mario Bouchard, President & CEO at iBwave. “With iBwave Mobile Planner, we have taken the same core value and taken it a step further by making it a simple field-based app for IT and field technicians.”
The company is simultaneously releasing a new training course for small cell planning. The iBwave Small Cells Training is a practical one-day course geared for field personnel to plan and deploy small cells.
iBwave Mobile Planner is commercially available on Google Play.
