Google for Entrepreneurs and Manos Accelerator Continue Its Partnership to Support Latino-Led Startups
SAN JOSE, CA (PRWEB) March 31, 2014 -- Manos Accelerator, a startup accelerator program with the vision to be recognized as an international hub in Silicon Valley where Latino entrepreneurs from across the globe can come to convert their big ideas into reality, has extended its partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs for the next two years.
Google for Entrepreneurs and Manos Accelerator have worked together since 2013 to develop a platform to launch high potential startups with Latino founders. The 1st cohort attracted over 75 applications where 7 finalists which included 2 international companies from Latin America were chosen for its inaugural program. This extended partnership helps launch more Latino-led tech startups with two program cycles in 2014 and two more scheduled in 2015.
The focus for Manos Accelerator is to identify Latino entrepreneurs and connect them with mentorship and resources to help them scale their companies. The 3-month program offers intensive coaching and mentorship; provides a collaborative workspace; and provides access to exclusive opportunities to engage with leading entrepreneurs, business executives, and service providers. The program’s capstone is the opportunity for these startups to pitch to a room full of investors and influencers at Demo Day in Silicon Valley.
“We are thrilled to see this partnership continue with a multi-year commitment. Gaining access to Latino founders, top-notch mentors and a network of entrepreneurial professionals is the foundation of Manos Accelerator,” said Edward Avila, co-founder and CEO of Manos Accelerator. “Our partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs enables us to continue our efforts to discover and support top Latino talent from all corners of the world to build innovative companies.”
“Manos Accelerator is doing exceptional work to nurture and showcase startup talent in the Latino community from across the US and Latin America.” said Mary Grove, Director of Google for Entrepreneurs. “We are excited to be part of their ongoing journey and help increase the number of Latino entrepreneurs in the global tech community.”
Manos Accelerator is now accepting applications for the next cohort on their website. The 2nd cohort of startups will run from June through August 2014 and is accepting up to 10 companies to participate in the 12-week program.
