EVO version 5.6 brings more connectivity, more storage capacity, and enhanced asset management functionality by integrating cloud workspaces, proxy previews and asset tagging.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 07, 2014
Studio Network Solutions (SNS), manufacturer of shared storage solutions for film, video, VFX, graphic animation and audio workgroups, today announced an all new version of its EVO Shared Storage Server, version 5.6. The latest version includes new project, workflow, and asset management functionality plus more performance and scalability for production teams of any size.
The EVO v5.6 release brings new asset management features like proxy previews, tagging, and Dropbox integration, as well as finer permissions for NAS users. EVO now has the capability to scale to 80 disks per node, and can be ordered with up to 24 CPU cores and 512GB RAM for the largest environments.
EVO v5.6 includes ShareBrowser Desktop Client—a new rich client interface similar to Finder/Explorer, but designed by SNS specifically to help media teams work and collaborate more efficiently.
“We’re excited about our latest version of EVO,” stated Eric Newbauer, Vice President, SNS. “Professional media creation teams will have more flexibility over their projects and workflow. EVO version 5.6 brings more connectivity, more storage capacity, and enhanced asset management functionality by integrating cloud workspaces, proxy previews and asset tagging.”
ShareBrowser client is a unified file/project/asset management interface for OS X and Windows. It ties storage and project/media management into a single comprehensive window, and enables teams to search across all EVO storage as well as local, offline, and other network disks. File metadata can be instantly indexed to the shared database, and users can more easily find, preview, and share media assets and projects.
Most importantly, when used together, EVO and ShareBrowser unlock features like project/bin/media sharing functionality for leading video applications like Adobe, Apple, Avid, Autodesk, Assimilate and Blackmagic Design and others.
Additionally, the latest version of EVO introduces accelerated file transfers via FileCatalyst and the ability to directly access Dropbox/Hightail content via the EVO ShareBrowser interface leaving one less window to navigate further streamlining the workflow process.
EVO v5.6 gives professional media creation teams total flexibility with built-in SAN and NAS, more connectivity, more storage capacity, enhanced features like automatic project file locking, project/bin sharing, proxy previews, asset tagging, RAID 5/6, NAS quotas, and remote monitoring and setup.
