Bridging tradition with high-tech, The Junior League of Tampa is releasing one of the region’s most popular cookbooks as an e-book this spring – and will be the first League nationally to publish its own e-cookbook. The Life of the Party, originally published in 2003 and full of favorite recipes for entertaining, is now available as an e-book on Amazon, Barnes & Noble NOOK bookstore, and others.

“JLT was actually one of the pioneers in cookbook publishing among Leagues nationally when we first issued our Gasparilla Cookbook more than 50 years ago, and we are continuing our innovation with this new e-book,” says Lee Lowry, president of The Junior League of Tampa. “The Life of the Party is the perfect book for us to debut on a digital platform as the cookbook has found a national audience and really speaks to those of us who are so time-crunched but want to entertain well. The e-book format is ideal for shoppers on the go.”

“We are very proud to be the first Junior League to publish an e-book cookbook,” says Ashley Hoff, JLT Cookbook Co-Chair. “We’ve done the research and realize that to keep up with the busy nature of people’s daily lives, we need to offer our books in a fresh, new way that makes it easy to access and appeals to all audiences.”

Cookbooks are an integral part of The Junior League of Tampa’s fundraising efforts – funds that go directly back into community projects and programs that tackle issues such as child welfare, literacy, and nutrition, and advocacy areas such as the fight against child sex trafficking. The Life of the Party is Volume 1 in the League’s “Culinary Collection,” which also includes EveryDay Feasts, Savor the Seasons, and Capture the Coast.

Retailing for $10.99, the e-book is available for download on more than 50 digital stores including the Amazon Kindle Store, iBooks, Kobo, and the Barnes & Noble NOOK Bookstore.
