Mostyn Moreno Foundation Selects Henderson High School Senior for Special Day
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) March 28, 2014 -- The Glenda Jean Mostyn and Joe E. Moreno Educational Foundation (The Mostyn Moreno Foundation) has announced that Henderson High School senior Kasey Bridwell has been chosen as a recipient of its 2014 Prom Spa Day.
Kasey will get to prepare for her prom by spending the day at Foxx III Spa and Salon in Henderson. The experience will include a variety of spa treatments, such as hair styling, makeup, a manicure and pedicure. The Foundation also provides money for a dress, shoes, accessories and any other incidentals that might be needed.
“A girl’s senior year in high school is a special time,” said Amber Mostyn, co-founder of the Mostyn Moreno Foundation. “We want the girls selected to experience their prom in a memorable way. This program was created to improve self-esteem and self-worth in a way that is fun and exciting, too.”
Participation in the Spa Day program is determined by the board of the Mostyn Moreno Foundation. Eligible candidates are graduating seniors with disabilities that attend a public school in Texas. Expenses related to Spa Day are covered by the Foundation. Along with prom program, the Mostyn Moreno Foundation also sponsors an additional “back-to-school” Spa Day that provides girls with a makeover, clothes, and even accessories.
“Our focus is to provide children with disabilities with as many opportunities as possible,” Mostyn added. “By focusing on commonly shared experiences, our community can become more inclusive to everyone.”
Previous participants in the Prom Spa Day have come from Henderson ISD and Jacksonville ISD. This is the second year the Mostyn Moreno Foundation has held a Prom Spa Day.

About the Mostyn Moreno Foundation
The Mostyn Moreno Foundation was created in 2006 by Houston trial lawyers Amber and Steve Mostyn to honor the memory of two caring Texans: Glenda Jean Mostyn, mother, grandmother, sister, and East Texas educator and Texas State Representative Joe E. Moreno, son, brother, friend, and legislator. Both cared very deeply about education and providing the best for children of Texas. Our focus is specifically on children with special needs and supports our community through our “Christmas Lights,” our “Community of Opportunities,” and our “Rodeo Day.”
