Cypherpath, an emerging leader in virtualization technology for education and enterprises, has appointed Danial Faizullabhoy as its CEO. In addition, the company announced that it is moving its headquarters from Virginia to Los Altos, California.
“We believe Danial is the right leader to take our business to the next step,” said Kevin Rogers, founder of Cypherpath. “Danial is a proven executive with an extensive track record in bringing disruptive enterprise technologies to market and managing rapidly growing companies. We look forward to working with him and leveraging his experience.”
Cypherpath is creating a platform that enables enterprises to virtualize their entire IT infrastructure to enhance security, optimize IT investments or scale operations rapidly. The company currently serves educational, financial and defense customers. Cypherpath was founded by Rogers, Art Payne, Steve Silva, a security expert formerly with Pacific Northwest National Laboratories, and Mike Lyons, a serial entrepreneur with a focus on security.
Faizullabhoy has more than twenty years of management, technical and marketing and venture capital investment experience. Most recently, Faizullabhoy oversaw products and solutions for Cyber Strategies, which creates customizable cyber exercises for the financial service sector. Last year, Cyber Strategies provided the key services and technology for Quantum Dawn 2, a security preparedness exercise involving several government agencies and Wall Street financial firms. Prior to Cyber Strategies, Faizullabhoy was the president and CEO of BroadLogic Network Technologies.
Faizullabhoy also served as a managing director at Walden International, participating as a board member and advisor at companies such as BroadLogic Inc., Ikanos (IKAN), Sierra Atlantic (sold to Hitachi Consulting), Infravio (sold to WebMethods). Faizullabhoy received his MBA in finance and marketing from Santa Clara University, California, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, with a Computer Science minor, from Norwich University, Vermont where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
“Virtualization is one of the most important IT technologies of the last twenty years, but it is still used in a very limited way by most enterprises. Cypherpath’s mission is to expand the scope of virtualization as well as make virtualization easier to adopt and use,” says Faizullabhoy. “I am very gratified to be joining a company that is pioneering a new way to think about IT infrastructure.”
