March 30 marks the annual observance of National Doctors’ Day. Wimbledon Health Partners observes National Doctors’ Day and recognizes physicians for the important role they play in helping patients, promoting overall health and their significant accomplishments.

“Doctors' Day is a way of saying thanks to the physicians who work tirelessly every day to keep their patients and community healthy,” stated Karl Foust, CFO of Wimbledon Health Partners. The first Doctors' Day observance was on March 30, 1933, in Winder, Ga. Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, decided to set aside a day to honor physicians. This first observance included the mailing of greeting cards and placing flowers on graves of decreased doctors. The red carnation is commonly used as a symbolic flower for National Doctors' Day.
