U.S. News & World Report Recognizes Avamere Rehabilitation of Clackamas for Achieving an Overall Five Star Rating
Gladstone, OR (PRWEB) March 28, 2014 -- Avamere Rehabilitation of Clackamas – a skilled nursing and long-term care facility that provides senior services in Portland, Ooregn and surrounding communities – has received the highest possible overall rating of five stars from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The Best Nursing Homes 2014 ratings highlight the top nursing homes in each city and state, out of nearly 16,000 facilities nationwide. According to CMS, about 60 percent of individuals over 65 will require some type of long-term care services during their lifetime and over 40 percent will receive care in a nursing home for some period.
CMS, a federal agency that assesses care homes in three categories—health inspections, level of nurse staffing, and quality of care—gives each an overall rating. U.S. News awarded the “Best Nursing Home” designation to homes that earned an overall rating of five stars from CMS in January 2014.
“The rising number of five-star homes is encouraging,” says Avery Comarow, U.S. News health rankings editor. “It speaks to care that is steadily becoming more skilled and compassionate.”
Avamere Rehabilitation of Clackamas provides a range of therapy and nursing services that are designed to promote rehabilitation and comfort for those recovering from an illness or injury. The senior care facility is also equipped for Memory Care – for those afflicted with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other mental illnesses.
“We couldn’t have achieved this level of quality care without the hard work of our staff,” says Everett Austria, Administrator for Avamere Rehabilitation of Clackamas. “Our approach to each patient is to individualize the care plan and work with them to achieve their goals.”
