Toms River, NJ (PRWEB) April 01, 2014
The numbers don’t lie. Despite the fear that Jersey Shore businesses had of people vacationing elsewhere after Hurricane Sandy devastated the area, workers were pleasantly surprised. According to Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno, the state saw a 1.3 percent increase in tourism in 2013 setting a record for the state.
The year’s success was due to several big events held in the Garden State including the Super Bowl and Special Olympics. Beaches and campgrounds attracted more guests as well. Tourism supports 512,000 jobs in New Jersey, the industry being the state’s fifth largest employee.
