Interactive Experience Startup T1Visions Raises $3.8M Series B

Fidelis Capital of Birmingham, AL, and a private investment group from Mooresville, NC lead the round. T1Visions had previously raised $2.9 million, bringing total funds invested in the Charlotte-based startup to $6.7 million since 2008.
T1Visions has built touchscreen systems and experiences that rival the most advanced systems in the industry. T1Visions’ inTouch™ Platform includes interactive tables and walls, along with complementary digital signage and mobile device integration. As one of the first providers of large-format touchscreen surfaces, the company is focused on creating interactive experiences for group use in public settings – primarily in retail, corporate, events and exhibits, education, and hospitality markets.
Mike Feldman, President of T1Visions, notes, “These past few years have been dedicated to testing and refining our interactive solutions with a small group of customers. We’re entering our next stage of growth: expansion. This investment secures our ability to continue to outpace and lead this small, rapidly growing market – which we anticipate being a multibillion dollar market in the next five to ten years.” Feldman further indicated funds would be invested in Research and Development for the ongoing development of new products, and Sales and Marketing – where the company looks to expand its distribution network and build brand recognition in the market.
The company’s headquarters in Charlotte, NC houses all operational components of the business, including Research and Development, Software Design and Development, Installation, Customer Support, and Sales and Marketing. All touchscreen systems are assembled, tested, and supported in Charlotte – and are installed in the field throughout North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. T1Visions supports over 350 installations in the field, and is currently exploring international expansion to Europe and Asia.
To protect its key competitive advantages in the space, T1Visions holds three recently awarded patents that cover its multitouch, multiuser software, including the division of a touchscreen into multiple active desktops, and its “toss” gesture, which allows users to toss content from the touchscreen to a secondary Media Screen.
