In addition to the energy storage devices, Sunbird Solar produces portable (folding) solar panels in several sizes (60, 120,500 watts) which can be plugged directly into the battery unit. The solar panels can be neatly folded up and stored when not needed. The battery is also unique because it is made of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) which has a significantly longer life expectancy, is more chemically stable and discharges more consistently than Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries, the ones currently found in many consumer electronics products and on newer airplanes.
