Irish Pop Star Eamonn McCrystal's Latest Blog Post Encourages Movie Goers to See 'God's Not Dead' This Weekend
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 29, 2014 -- Eamonn McCrystal, an Irish pop tenor and TV/radio host based in Los Angeles, Calif., has endorsed the indie film “God’s Not Dead,” and encourages movie goers to check out the movie this weekend in his latest blog post entitled, “Why ‘God’s Not Dead’ is Much More Important Than ‘Noah.’” According to Entertainment Weekly, ‘God’s Not Dead’ was the fourth biggest movie in the USA, breaking all box office predictions (only in 780 theaters and took in over $9M in its opening weekend), and has expanded to even more theaters this weekend.
McCrystal was so inspired by the film that he took to his blog to write about it. “There's no question that this week's new Hollywood blockbuster, ‘Noah’ (starring Russell Crowe) will triumph at the box office; however, in the grand scheme of things, the indie movie ‘God's Not Dead’ – produced by PureFlix – will certainly have a more profound impact on your life than the mega CGI creation,” McCrystal says in his post.
So how could this independent movie with only moderately known actors be considered “more important” than a blockbuster starring A-lister Russell Crowe? “Simply put,” McCrystal says, “the message.”
The Irish tenor continued, the questions the movie poses and self-examination it inspires is far more enlightening than the story of the man in the boat you’ve heard a million times. McCrystal says the movie inspires the questions, “Are you prepared to defend your faith – would you know where to start?”
“If nothing else,” McCrystal says, “this movie, (particularly to a Christian) should be a major wake-up call – are you ready to take a stand in front of the world (and God) to defend your faith and stand up for what you believe in?”
In addition to his support of the message, McCrystal also has some personal ties to the film. His manager, Elizabeth Travis, is a partner of PureFlix the production company behind the Christian hit. One of the featured songs is by the Newsboys, a group whose music is distributed by Capitol Christian Distribution – the same company (Difference Media) under which Eamonn will be releasing his album “A Living Prayer” this September.
