Faces of Trident: Trident University International Recognizes Student and Alumni Accomplishments
Cypress, CA (PRWEB) March 31, 2014 -- The student and alumni community of Trident University International(Trident) is made up of an active and diverse group of men and women who strive to make positive contributions to their communities on a daily basis.
On a periodic basis we will highlight Trident students and alumni who have enriched the lives of themselves and those around them.
USAF GATHERING OF EAGLES AWARD PRESENTATION
Lt. Col. Robert “Danny” Berg (M.B.A., ‘04) was recently honored at the USAF Gathering of Eagles in Montgomery, AL. The more than 1,000 attendees saw Berg and 11 others receive an Eagle award. Berg, who also presented at the ceremony, was the lead critical care nurse on the rescue mission of John Solecki, the only American hostage rescued alive from Pakistan since 2000. He has never lost a patient in transport.
Lt. Col. Berg (USAF-R) retired as a CCATT Program Coordinator and a CCATT alignment director for FEMA on the west coast of the United States.
The Gathering of Eagles had its first official meeting in 1982 (then known as “Great Moments in Aviation History”) as a way to develop an aviation heritage program and acknowledge notable aviators.
ALUMNUS SEES THE RELEASE OF TWO BOOKS THIS SPRING
Trident graduate Dr. Joshua Sipper (Ph. D. in E-Learning Leadership, ‘12) will be releasing two books this spring through separate publishers. The non-fiction title Soulbook, an examination of the human soul, will be released on March 24th through Enwrightened Publications. Black Rose Writing will release the second book, a fiction title called The Tower Quail, on April 24th.
PH. D. STUDENT PUBLISHES WORK IN JOURNAL
Current Trident Ph. D. student Roselia de Necochea-Campion recently had a review of her work published in the peer-reviewed journal Cancer Letters. This publication focuses on original research on a multitude of concerns and aspects of cancer. Ms. De Necochea-Campion and her research team’s findings can be found in the article “Clinico-pathologic relevance of Surviving splice variant expression in cancer.” She is currently working on her Ph. D. in Health Sciences.
PH. D. GRADUATE HELMS MASS UNIVERSITY, RECENT FEATURED SPEAKER
Dr. Robert E. Johnson (Ph. D. in Educational Leadership, ‘07), the current President of Becker College in Worcester, MA, was the featured speaker at Quinsigamond Community College’s 29th Annual Community Breakfast on January 20th to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In addition to his Ph. D. in Higher Education Administration from Trident, he also earned a master’s degree in education administration from University of Cincinnati, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Morehouse College in Atlanta.
