Friends Life Care’s Award Winning VigR™ Program Kicks-Off New Spring 2014 Schedule
(PRWEB) April 02, 2014 -- VigR™ was created to help participants understand and improve behaviors that affect four essential ingredients of a healthy life: vitality, independence, growth and resilience. VigR™ can make the difference between aging and aging well. Now celebrating its fourth year, the VigR™ program was awarded the 2013 ”Innovation in Care and Services Award” from Leading Age, a national organization representing 6,000 non-profit aging services organizations.
The spring 2014 schedule includes the latest information on nutrition and stress management as well as the popular “Healthy Brain” workshop. This class is of particular interest to the baby boomer and senior population. Research continues to demonstrate the positive effect of cognitive training on the brain, especially when combined with other healthy and practical choices. Additionally, a new session “Because it Matters” will be offered free of charge. The spring 2014 “Because it Matters” class will address “pelvic health for women, preventing pelvic prolapse and urinary incontinence. “ Look for future “Because it Matters” workshops featuring current topics, offered free of charge - because it matters.
Spring 2014 VigR™ workshops in April will be held at various locations in the Philadelphia region including the Wilmington, DE area. Single afternoon workshops include “Because it Matters: Pelvic Health for Women” and “The Healthy Brain.” Workshop series include “Rhythm for Life: Drumming for Relaxation” ”Techniques for a Centered Life” and “The Anti-inflammatory Food Fix.” Enrollment is open to anyone. All VigR™ programs are developed using research-based activities and information which has been shown to be of benefit in the pursuit of healthy aging.
