More than 300,000 physicians in 41 states now have access to DocbookMD—thanks to exclusive relationships between county and state medical societies and DocbookMD.

With 4 out of 5 physicians using smartphones and tablets at work, DocbookMD is fast becoming a valuable resource for physicians seeking to improve the quality and speed of patient care in hospitals and clinics across the U.S.

DocbookMD, a physician-run mobile health technology company based in Austin, Texas has reached an agreement with the California Medical Association this week to expand an existing relationship with counties to become the State Association’s preferred provider of HIPAA-secure text messaging for their 39,000 members.

“Having access to DocbookMD means physicians across California will be able to consult with colleagues with the same ease of text messaging but without the worry of incurring HIPAA violations,” says Chad Shepler, Director of Partner Development for DocbookMD. “With 4 out of 5 physicians using smartphones and tablets at work, DocbookMD is fast becoming a valuable resource for physicians seeking to improve the quality and speed of patient care in hospitals and clinics across the U.S.”

DocbookMD helps physicians, hospitals and groups:

  •     Exchange patient related messages including images directly from the point of care
  •     Find and quickly communicate with healthcare professionals in the community by name or specialty
  •     Expedite urgent X-ray reports from radiology
  •     Improve visibility to patient discharge notes and lower hospital readmissions
  •     Receive urgent notifications and answering service messages directly to their smartphone
  •     Coordinate care across the health system with the ability to include staff

“DocbookMD offers the targeted functionality physicians need to navigate the increasingly complex world of healthcare in California and beyond,” says Bill Parrish, CEO of Santa Clara and Monterrey County Medical Societies in California. “By receiving critical communications securely to a mobile device like a smartphone or tablet, physicians have a tool that can help them improve productivity and keep their focus on improving patient outcomes.”
