Project Sister Family Services to Celebrate 42 Years
Pomona, California (PRWEB) April 02, 2014 -- The public is invited to an informative and celebratory evening of dining and entertainment to benefit Project Sister Family Services.
Police departments and police officer associations have recognized Project Sister Family Services for assisting law enforcement provide supportive services to sexual assault victims. The “Healing the Heart” event is supported by generous contributions from community leaders, local businesses and organizations, including Foothill Transit, Majestic Realty Foundation, Cindy Slominski MD, and La Verne Police Officers Association.
This year the evening a special dramatic performance “CHATS” (Communicating Heartfelt and Traumatic Stories) based on real life experiences will be highlighted.
Founded in 1972, Project Sister Family Services is a community-based organization providing sexual assault crisis and prevention services in the East San Gabriel and Inland Valleys. Its mission is to reduce the trauma and risk of sexual assault and child abuse. Services include a 24-hour hotline, hospital, court and police accompaniments, professional counseling, and prevention education programs at middles schools, high schools, colleges, senior centers and community organizations. Last year 37,462 women, men, children were assisted through Project Sister’s services and programs.
