Southampton A.C.O. Announces Opening for Director of Data Analysis/IT
Southampton, N.Y. (PRWEB) March 31, 2014 -- Southampton A.C.O. recently announced the opening for the organization’s Director of Data Analysis/IT. The position is responsible for the handling of electronic medical records as well as data collection and reporting.
Southampton A.C.O.’s goal is to organize Electronic Health Records (EHR) that integrate the records of the organization’s doctors with other healthcare professionals on Long Island, allowing for seamless communication and access to records. Uniform EHR within an A.C.O. provides healthcare professionals the ability to identify patients’ primary care physicians and their medical history as well as follow patients’ ongoing care like consults, tests, and treatments. In order to manage these records efficiently, an experienced professional with a background in analytics and management is preferable.
“Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is a large organization that is not only connecting doctors through A.C.O.’s, but hundreds if not thousands of patients. In order to provide efficient and high quality healthcare, we need to be analyzing and managing all the data available to us, including the large database CMS provides,” stated Lee Ropiak, Project Manager for Southampton A.C.O.
Each patient at Southampton A.C.O. is assigned to one healthcare professional that can deliver primary care service. Within an A.C.O., each doctor signs up for three years with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Throughout those three years, the organization will be collecting data on all the efforts and resources directed to patient care that result in savings as it is presented for payment to CMS based on an A.C.O’s share of savings. Additionally, CMS offers a large pool of data on patient population back to the doctors.
