(PRWEB) April 01, 2014 -- This past Thursday morning, Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester (HPCW) – along with longtime Stepinac High School coach Michael O’Donnell – received Community Service Awards from The Salvation Army White Plains Corps at the 26th Annual Community Service Awards Breakfast.
The March 27 event took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains, with the Salvation Army paying homage to outstanding organizations and individuals who have made significant strides in improving Westchester. The event exceeded 200 attendees and supporters, and included proclamations from the County of Westchester and City of White Plains. HPCW and O’Donnell were also presented with plaques from The Salvation Army in recognition of their life-changing endeavors.
“The Salvation Army honors Coach Mike O'Donnell, Director of Athletics at Archbishop Stepinac High School and Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester, both of whom enrich the quality of life in our community,” said Barbara Vrooman, a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Council. “Mike helps prepare and guide young people along their life path, and Hospice – through its loving care – helps prepare those on their journey to complete their lives. We feel that these honorees have raised us all to higher ground and shown us how to live richly and celebrate life fully, and exemplify The Salvation Army’s motto: Doing The Most Good.”
