South Hill, a US-based party-plan jewellery company, has announced plans to launch operations in the United Kingdom.
South Hill offers a range of personalised jewellery, each piece created by the customer herself from a wide choice of lockets, charms, chains and droplets. Director of Sales Amy Faircloth says, “Women everywhere love to tell their story through the jewellery they wear. It’s so much more exciting than just using something ready-made.”
At the heart of South Hill’s jewellery line is a selection of glass-windowed lockets, some circular and some diamond-shaped. Locket colours include silver, gold and rose gold, and many are circled with Swarovski crystals. Into the locket, a customer can drop her choice of charms, coins and screens. These give instant expression to what she cares about most, from a favourite pet to a favourite food, from a lifelong hobby to a charitable cause, from a loved one to her own zodiac sign.
To complement the lockets, customers can select from a range of quality chains, with a variety of weights, lengths and styles. There’s a choice of droplets to add finishing touches to each piece.
South Hill’s products are marketed by customers themselves, through a simple business system provided by the company. Independent distributors, known as Artists, invite women to host social events at home. Guests gather to explore the jewellery and create their own pieces. The hostess receives free and discounted jewellery based on sales, and the Artist earns commissions. An Artist can also build teams of other Artists, thereby multiplying her income.
South Hill was founded in 2013 by two families, the Palmers and the Ochoas, in Arizona, USA. In its first year, the company grew faster than any other party plan company and expanded into Canada.
