I am extremely proud of the staff and their continued dedication to Avamere’s mission to enhance the life of every person we serve.
Salem, Oregon (PRWEB) March 31, 2014
Avamere Rehabilitation of Salem – a skilled nursing campus located at 4120 Kurth Street S., Salem, Oregon 97302 – received the highest possible overall rating of five stars from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The achievement places the care facility as “one of the best in the nation” according to U.S. News and World Report’s Best Nursing Homes 2014.
“I am extremely proud of the staff and their continued dedication to Avamere’s mission to enhance the life of every person we serve,” says Jay Ponciano, Administrator for Avamere Rehabilitation of Salem. “We’re excited to take this level of quality of care and transfer it to our new transitional care building later this year.”
The Avamere Family of Companies broke ground for a new care campus in November of 2013. Avamere Rehabilitation of Salem will become Salem Transitional Care. According to Avamere Family of Companies President Gary Wart, the new facility will emphasize quicker recovery periods for patients while working to reduce re-hospitalizations. Salem Transitional Care “is just one way [Avamere] works to stay ahead of the curve while meeting the needs of those we serve.”
By examining three specific categories, CMS applies a rating of up to five stars to nursing homes in order to help consumers make informed decisions when choosing where to receive post-hospital care. The categories examined are health inspections, level of nurse staffing, and quality of care. Avamere Rehabilitation of Salem received an overall rating of five stars.
