Spring Mountain Festival Celebrates 22 Years of Tradition on April 25 – 27
Petersburg, W.Va (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- A new venue means a new range of opportunities, says The Grant County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Typically hosted at Petersburg City Park, the 22nd Annual Spring Mountain Festival will be held at the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Petersburg, W.Va. this year, announced the Grant County Chamber of Commerce. The festival takes place April 25 through Sunday, April 27, 2014 and features bands, artisans, crafters, food, and various other vendors.
The new venue will allow the Spring Mountain Festival to improve, and ultimately, continue to grow, says Grant County CVB Executive Director Hanna Weaver. “The festival has had a lot of great years at the City Park, but the festival committee is very excited for the first official year at the Tri-County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds grant us more space to work with—that means more room for food vendors, artisans, crafters, more entertainment—and we’ll be able to hopefully attract and accommodate more attendees.”
This year’s music artists include popular country artist Glen Templeton, the artist behind the popular song, “Ball Cap”, which has been at number one for weeks on Sirius XM show, The Highway: HOT 45 Countdown. Country-rocker Shane Thomas is also back this year by popular demand.
Also performing on stage at the 22nd Annual Spring Mountain Festival: Contemporary Christian singer Aaron Shust, as the headlining act of The Morning Rises Tour; country star Ricky Young; Petersburg bluegrass band, Maysville Express; the oldies band, Subway; and bluegrass/Appalachian band The Hillbilly Gypsies.
The annual event also offers an antique car, truck, tractor and engine show; motorcycle show; The April Fools River Float Race; A golf tournament; Civil War train rides; and a 5k race. All events are free, except for the Civil Train Rides (tickets can be bought at http://www.SouthSideDepot.com).
Weaver says she thinks visitors will enjoy some of the new events, including the Purina Incredible Dog Show and a corn hole tournament with cash prizes.
