http://www.MyCareerSpark.org is a first-of-its-kind online tool developed to help improve the personal branding and job search successes of military spouses. It was designed and developed by iostudio, LLC on behalf of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes program and Toyota, in partnership with Blue Star Families.

Military spouses face an uncommon employment hurdle, because their frequent moves for their spouses’ military careers leave them with time-gaps on their resumes. By no fault of their own, their work history often does not reflect their skillsets and value to a potential employer. On behalf of Hiring Our Heroes, iostudio built Career Spark as a solution to lower the unemployment rates among the military spouse population.

Career Spark is more than just a resume builder. It helps military spouses improve their resumes, as well as gain confidence in their skills, assets and value proposition to an employer. Spouses can also opt-in to make their new resumes available to thousands of small, medium, and large employers seeking qualified military spouse candidates.

iostudio conducted research with military spouses and human resources executives to develop an online tool to support the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Program in its goal of helping both military spouse job seekers and their future employers.

“Building Career Spark has been a great opportunity for iostudio to use innovative website creation to provide a meaningful, tangible solution for a nonprofit doing significant work,” said Andy Blenkle, executive director of iostudio. “We plan to add to the site over time to ensure it continues to be the best possible resource for military spouses.”

"I know firsthand from nearly two decades as an Army spouse that military spouses face many obstacles as working professionals,” said Noreen O’Neil, director of the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Program. “Career Spark is easy to use and makes rich content accessible for spouses around the world. It will change the way spouses look at their extraordinary skills and experience, helping them find and keep a meaningful career."

iostudio has extensive experience working with the military and supporting organizations. Career Spark is a military spouse-specific companion to the Personal Branding Resume Engine that iostudio previously built for Hiring Our Heroes and Toyota.
