Boston Red Sox Presented With Stunning 2013 World Series Championship Rings By Jostens
Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 04, 2014 -- During Opening Day festivities at Fenway Park, the Boston Red Sox presented players and uniformed personnel and staff with their 2013 World Series Championship Rings. Created by Jostens, the leading national custom jewelry designer and producer, the one-of-a-kind Boston Red Sox 2013 World Series Championship Ring captures the story of an inspired season; one that will go down in history with players, fans, and a city united. In addition to the 2013 World Series ring, David Ortiz was also presented with a special MVP Ring for his 2013 postseason performance.
“During this special celebration of the 2013 Championship win, we were honored to present our players and uniformed personnel and staff with these spectacular rings that we hope capture the emotions of the 2013 season,” said Red Sox Principal Owner John W. Henry. “The rings celebrate the Red Sox’ winning history, capture the unique personality of the team, and highlight the City of Boston which was an integral part of this team’s story last season.”
Crafted in 14-karat white gold, the ring top is a celebration of the team’s accomplishment and is showcased by 126 diamonds, 16 custom-cut sapphires, and nine custom-cut rubies; totaling nearly eight carats. The left side of the ring pays homage to the city that inspired a team and a team that inspired a city. The right side of the ring features the individual person’s name and number. It is also customized to highlight the number of World Series titles the individual has won with the Red Sox by portraying either multiple trophy images or the Fenway Park façade. The inside further memorializes the incredible season with a Bearded Brothers image and 10-30-13, the date that the Red Sox brought the World Championship back to Fenway Park.
“Jostens is thrilled to partner with the Boston Red Sox for the third time in the last 10 years on the creation of a World Series Championship ring. We are proud to help present the team with a ring that celebrates the team’s eighth championship title and historic victory,” said Chris Poitras, Vice President, College and Pro Champ, Jostens. “This dazzling ring was meticulously designed to emphasize the best qualities of each of the materials used and create an exceptionally beautiful ring.”
In addition to the 2013 World Series Championship ring, the Red Sox also presented David Ortiz with a 2013 World Series MVP ring. The top of the 14-karat white gold ring features nine custom- cut genuine rubies depicting the hanging sox logo over a handset diamond pave surface. The words “World Series” encircle the top of the ring, and above the hanging sox is a diamond crest, forming the letters MVP.
The right side of the ring depicts the Red Sox ‘B’ logo with the words “3x World Champion ’04 ’07 ’13” above it, and Ortiz’s jersey number 34 below. The left side of the ring includes an image of the designated hitter with Ortiz’s name across the top and 2013 below. Ortiz’s stats are included in a special arbor which is depicted on the inside of the ring. The slugger hit 11 for 16 (.688) with two home runs and six RBIs during the World Series.
The Red Sox also collaborated with the Championship Design team at Jostens to create a custom selection of personalized jewelry and collectibles with designs inspired by the World Series Championship Rings.
