New CPO Science Link™ Series and Exploros Partnership Announced at 2014 National Science Teachers Association Conference
Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- Today at the 2014 National Science Teachers Association Conference (NSTA), CPO Science, a brand within School Specialty Science and part of School Specialty, Inc. , announced the debut of its CPO Science Link Series. Designed to engage middle and high school students and boost their understanding of key scientific concepts, it can be used to enhance existing curriculum by promoting a deeper understanding of science and accommodating differentiated instruction. Advance copies of the Teacher’s Guide of the forthcoming title, “Energy Car,” are now available exclusively at NSTA.
Now available for pre-order, the CPO Science Link Series, through the use of award-winning science and engineering investigations and innovative digital learning experiences, connects students to STEM to prepare them for college and career readiness as well as supports the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
“In response to the launch of the Next Generation Science Standards and the national emphasis on STEM education, our CPO Science Link Series is designed to provide teachers with the opportunity to engage their students in hands-on science learning that will engage and interest them in this exciting field,” said Bodie Marx, general manager of School Specialty Science.
Four components in CPO Science Link combine or “link” together to become a powerful tool for advancing student aptitude:
• Investigations and Teacher’s Guide: Innovative and engaging hands-on student investigations bring key science that address STEM and NGSS to life. Investigations are supported by in-depth teacher resources to guide and extend every lesson. They are written at three academic levels to help differentiate instruction in support of multiple levels of learning.
• Hands-on Equipment: Investigations are facilitated on exclusive, easy-to use equipment that sets up in two minutes or less, is calibrated to professional standards and provides better quality student data.
• Online Multimedia Content: Students and teachers can access the extensive investigation material and bonus online multimedia anytime, anywhere through a perpetual license. Among the content available are animations, science content videos, whiteboard resources and student readings.
• Tablet-enabled Learning: Powered by Exploros™, students in 1:1 classrooms have the opportunity to explore and become active in unique, tablet-based collaborative interactions such as communal word clouds, photo and video responses, gated polls and questions and much more. Teachers also have access to a real-time dashboard which provides instant information on student responses and progress. Tablets are not required to use the CPO Science Link Series; however each title will feature a selection of tablet-enabled investigations.
“We are excited to merge our social tablet technology with the power of hands on, inquiry-based science,” said Bradley Heilman, CEO of Exploros. “The CPO Science Link Series encompasses our core philosophy of developing 21st century skills through collaborative learning, individual exploration and strong teacher engagement.”
Ten titles in the series will be released in August 2014. For a preview of the CPO Science Link Series and to pre-order, visit http://www.cposcience.com/link.
