Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “Rhythm Blues Lesson - Learn How to Play an 8 Bar Blues Chord Progression”
(PRWEB) April 02, 2014 -- “A lot of people know the 12 Bar Blues and you may feel comfortable playing through that, but there are other forms of the blues, the 8 Bar Blues is another example, this is in songs like Key to the Highway,” says MacLennan. Jon starts off this easy blues guitar lesson with what he calls a “typical blues cliché riff”, which he demonstrates as the open 5th string and the 2nd fret of the 4th string with his fist finger and then the open 5th string and the 4th fret of the 4th string with his 3rd finger, played as a shuffle back and fourth as eighth notes (1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &), played for one whole measure. Next he jumps to the five chord which is E, which simple moving the your first finger from the 4th string to the 5th string and playing the same riff but based on the 6th and 5th strings instead of the 5th and 4th strings, again played for one whole measure. Next MacLennan moves to the D, which again is the same riff as before, but now his first finger is on the 3rd string and the riff is based on the 4th and 3rd strings, played for two measures this time. Next step is he goes back and plays the riff on A for one measure and then E for one measure. And finally he finishes the whole progression off with a turnaround. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy blues guitar lesson at BluesGuitar.com.
