Rapiscan Systems Announces Implementation of Cargo Inspection Solution for Eastern European Customer
Torrance, CA (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- Rapiscan Systems, Inc., a leading global supplier of security inspection systems, announced today that it has been awarded a contract to implement a cargo security screening service in Eastern Europe. Rapiscan’s Eagle G60 Gantry Scanner operates on rails and uses a 6 MeV X-ray imaging system, which can scan densely packed cargo, reducing the need for manual inspection.
Rapiscan will provide a comprehensive X-ray screening program, which will incorporate technology, civil works, and a multiyear maintenance support programme. The solution enables the customer to obtain all the equipment and expertise required to use and maintain the technology at the peak of operational efficiency.
Frederic Brouiller, Vice President Sales EMEA at Rapiscan Systems, stated: “We are proud to play a role in improving the territory’s security infrastructure. The G60 represents Rapiscan’s best in-class imaging technology which provides fast and reliable cargo screening at entrances to critical facilities, as well as at border crossings and seaports around the world. Our solution is proving successful across our customer base as regulatory and compliance controls continue to increase due to international threat levels brought about by terrorism, smuggling and restrictions on prohibited substances. Our customers see the value in dealing with one supplier to provide commonality of technologies on multiple platforms, economies of scale and informed local expertise and support.”
