Clarion Safety Systems, a leading designer and manufacturer of safety signs and labels, is pleased to announce its sponsorship and participation in BLR’s Safety Summit regarding best practices and OSHA compliance for 2014, taking place April 9 – 11, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia.
BLR, a provider of U.S. compliance and training solutions for human resources, compensation, safety and environmental markets, is offering this 3-day interactive learning and networking event to provide safety engineers and managers with resources on the latest in OSHA compliance challenges.
“We’ve put together an all-star lineup of workplace safety thought leaders and experts, each eager to share tested and proven program development and implementation tactics, such as how to leverage new mobile devices and innovative multimedia platforms to manage and communicate safety, new technologies and methods to 'design' safety in to the work space, how to meet new hazard communication standards under GHS, protecting employees from heat stress heading into summer 2014, and much more,” according to BLR.
The summit will feature keynote speakers such as: Kathy Seabrook, president of ASSE and founder of Global Solutions, Inc.; John Howard, M.D., director of NIOSH; and Eddie Greer, of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
As a sponsor of the event, Clarion will be exhibiting at the summit, showcasing the power of effective safety sign systems, as well as providing resources on understanding OSHA’s 2013 update to its regulations on workplace safety signs and tags.
In addition, Clarion CEO Geoffrey Peckham will be a featured speaker at the summit, presenting on “New OSHA/ANSI Safety Sign Systems: A New and Better Tool to Reduce Accidents in Today’s Workplaces.” The session will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 1:40 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

ABOUT GEOFFREY PECKHAM
Geoffrey Peckham has more than two decades of experience in actively advancing safety communications. He has led and continues to lead both the U.S. and international efforts to harmonize standards in the area of safety signs, labels and markings; this includes contributing to the leadership and direction of ANSI, ISO, OSHA and NFPA safety codes. Peckham serves as chair of the ANSI Z535 Committee for Safety Signs and Colors and chair of the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 145 – Graphical Symbols. He has also been selected as a member of the U.S. TAG to ISO/PC 283, an ISO committee writing a new Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems standard that will, when finished, define global best practices for workplace safety.
Over the last four years, Peckham spearheaded the effort to update OSHA standards to align them with the latest advances in safety sign technology. Together with NEMA, he lobbied OSHA to recognize the new ANSI Z535 standards and reference them in federal regulations. The OSHA safety sign standards update took place in the fall of 2013, providing workplace safety professionals with the ability to use the ANSI Z535 standards to better protect people from harm.
