Mrs. Green’s Natural Market and Field Trip Factory are pleased to announce the launch of their new educational field trip, Think Global, Eat Local, a health and wellness program starting in April. This free, hands-on learning experience is designed to educate children about the world they live in through a highly interactive tour around their local Mrs. Green’s store. With a focus on nutrition, sustainability and the environment, this field trip aligns with Common Core and local learning standards. Students will learn great ways to make positive impacts on their health and communities through easy, everyday behavioral changes.

Think Global, Eat Local provides educators with an excellent opportunity to reinforce the lessons they are already teaching in class. Learning about relevant topics in a familiar environment makes it easy to understand how health and earth-friendly habits can pertain to one’s own life. This makes grocery stores like Mrs. Green’s, the perfect stage on which to provide education that benefits families, communities and most importantly students.

“The earlier we can teach our youth about health, nutrition and environmental responsibility, the better! Mrs. Green’s is proud to be able to provide students with the tools to help make a difference in their personal lives and their communities. It’s a great way for us all to see how easy it is to make positive changes,” said Mrs. Green’s Marketing Manager, Kristine Drier.

Developed in partnership with Field Trip Factory, Think Global, Eat Local is offered free of charge to all elementary schools, Scout groups, home schoolers, day cares and community organizations with students in Pre K-6 grades.

Launching the second week in April, Think Global, Eat Local is available at select Mrs. Green’s locations. Field Trips must be arranged at least two weeks prior to the actual tour. To schedule your Field Trip, go to http://www.FieldTripFactory.com/Programs/MrsGreens or call 800-987-6409.
