MBank Named "Innovative Community Bank of the Year" for Restructuring and Turnaround Innovation

MBank is recognized by peers for innovation in achieving return to profitability.

Gresham-based MBank today announced it was recognized by the Western Independent Bankers (WIB) with the “Innovative Community Bank of the Year Award” for Restructuring and Turnaround Innovation. The award was presented to MBank President and CEO Jef Baker at the WIB Annual Conference in Tucson.

“All of us at MBank are honored our peers recognize our success in returning the bank to profitability,” said Baker. “At the height of the great recession and as banks across the nation were struggling to recover from the collapse of the housing market, our bank was given only a 5% change of survival. With the commitment and leadership of an active Board of Directors, we overcame the odds thanks to the dedication of our employees, the support of our investors and the innovation of our team and strategic partners.”
