New York, NY (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- Ticket Down announces that two of the greatest performers in the history of rock music are uniting this summer for two shows in the New York Tri-State area. John Fogerty and Jackson Browne, two performers known for their unique and popular sounds will join forces for shows at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J. and the Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, N.Y. The former will be held on August 4th with the show at Jones Beach being held the following day.
Fogerty has been a relevant figure in the music business since 1959. The native of Berkley, Calif. is a talented solo artist who also spent a large amount of time in his career with Creedence Clearwater Revival. The 68-year-old singer, songwriter and guitarist is considered by Rolling Stones magazine to be the 40th best guitarist of all time and the 72nd greatest singer. Fogerty got his start in the music business with The Golliwogs before moving on to CCR. In 1973, he began his solo career and has never turned back. In 1984, he took a break from the music business before returning in 1985. He took another break in the mid-1990s after CCR was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The 65-year-old Browne was born in Heidelberg, Germany and has been a professional musician since 1966. He began to gain popularity in the 1970s and in 2004, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has also received an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Occidental College in Los Angeles, Calif. The talented musician has also been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and other than his music, is known as a humanitarian for his charitable work throughout the world. He has been honored with several Humanitarian Awards including the Chapin-World Hunger Year and NARM Harry Chapin awards.
The PNC Bank Arts Center is a venue that opened in 1968 and can seat more than 17,000 fans. In the seats themselves, the venue can hold 7,000 fans, while the outdoor general admission area can seat another 10,500 fans. The venue is only open for events from May through September and is considered one of the top amphitheaters in the country and the world. The venue is operated by Live Nation and was originally called the Garden State Arts Center.
Much like the PNC Bank Arts Center, the Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre is operated by Live Nation. The two venues are the only amphitheaters in the area and originally opened in 1952. The facility can seat 15,000 fans and was recently reconstructed following heavy damage sustained in 2012 from Hurricane Sandy. After more than $20 million were spent in renovations, the facility opened in May 2013 and will host these two music legends in August.
