Announcing The Princess Ball: Toronto's Premier Princess Fundraiser For Make A Wish
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) April 09, 2014 -- The Wishes for Olivia Group is royally pleased to announce the inaugural Princess Ball. This lavish charity event will be held on April 12, 2014 at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto. And there's a twist: the guests aren't simply the high society set, they're the preschool set! Over 300 guests including families and children from the GTA and across Ontario will be present for a magical afternoon of fun and fundraising. Tickets for The Princess Ball went on sale in early December and sold out within hours, showcasing strong interest from parents and children alike in this magical event.
The Wishes for Olivia Group was created in 2013 after the untimely passing of founder Jennifer White’s daughter, Olivia, in 2012. The group works to raise funds towards the Make A Wish Foundation, with The Princess Ball as the flagship event. In Olivia's honour her love of fancy dress, Princesses, dancing and all things royal will be featured at an event specially geared toward children, with a goal of helping other children live their dreams.
“Losing Olivia was devastating and left an enormous gap in our lives," says White. "Grief is a powerful force, and we drove ourselves to use it to create the Princess Ball in her memory. We wanted to embody her spirit and build something wonderful and magical and dream-realizing, and it seemed a natural fit to work with Make A Wish.”
The Princess Ball welcomed several sponsors including RBC Capital Markets, Home Trust, Official Princess Parties and more, all joining in to make the Liberty Grand an extra-special Princess Wonderland for the afternoon. “Our sponsors quickly recognized the opportunity,” White said. “Supporting this kind of niche event gives them the opportunity to connect and interact directly with families in a wonderful atmosphere, all for a worthwhile cause.”
The Princess Ball is enhancing fundraising efforts with a high quality selection of Silent Auction items at the Ball, including luxury goods as well as experiences across Ontario. The Grand Raffle Prize is a much coveted travel coupon worth $3,500, for a trip to Disney or wherever destination the winner chooses. “The Ball is about letting children live out dream experiences, and we’re really excited that we’re going to give a family at the ball the chance to do that as well,” says White.
The 2014 event is the first Princess Ball but it will not be the last, much to the joy of children everywhere. Planning for the 2015 event is already underway, and it promises to be another afternoon of magic.
