Road 2 NAB Show Filmmakers to Create 5 Films in 3 Days
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) April 04, 2014 -- Inspired by indie-filmmaking competitions, acclaimed directors Sean Becker, Jenn Page, Collier Landry, Jorge Bicer, and Jenny Curtis took off on a mission this morning to create five short films on their way to the National Association of Broadcaster’s trade event, NAB Show. During the three day journey, they will produce two music videos, a commercial, and two short films featuring talented artists and actors. “We've combined a crazy film festival competition, with a reality show, with educational videos,” says producer Aaron Schuman, “and rolled them all up into one crazy three day filmmaking adventure."
Among the featured talent will be Jason Charles Miller, a rising country music star signed to Billy Ray Cyrus’ Blue Cadillac Music record label; Bill Suplee, a prolific actor known for his recurring part on "My Name is Earl"; and up-and-coming actors Malia Miglino and Micky Shiloah.
Cinematographer Collier Landry is also among the talented cast, and will sing in a music video directed by Jenn Page. After having directed Billy Ray Cyrus’ recent music video, “Hope is Just Ahead,” Page and Cyrus collaborated on the concept for this second music video, a cover of a lesser known Cyrus song, “I Wouldn’t Be Me.”
With cast and crew in tow, the filmmakers will stop along the way to produce the films and shoot video tips on technology, gear and filmmaking. Their films, tips, and behind-the-scenes footage will be featured on NAB Show’s blog site; at Gawk.com; and in e-mail newsletters from partner New Media Expo, for a combined reach of hundreds of thousands of content creators.
The Road 2 NAB Show will also be live streaming from NMX’s New Media Lounge daily from 1pm to 2pm PDT during NAB Show. The show, hosted by Jenn Page, will feature guests from all aspects of the industry - from social media experts to film producers. Viewers are invited to join the conversation on Twitter by directing questions at @Road2NABShow.
The Road 2 NAB project is one in an emerging trend of productions that combine new media and competition. Incidentally, several members of the group - Jenn Page, Collier Landry, Jenny Curtis and producer Aaron Schumann - are semi-finalist contestants on an anticipated multi-platform reality television show, "The Reel Deal," which will challenge entertainers to make a film alongside a celebrity mentor in just one week.
