Horizon among the most elite companies for business technology innovation

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey today announced that the company earned a coveted spot on this year’s InformationWeek Elite 100 – a list of the nation’s top business technology innovators. Horizon BCBSNJ is ranked 73 in the revamped InformationWeek listing and is the only major health insurance company in the rankings.

The 2014 ranking, released at an InformationWeek awards ceremony in Las Vegas this week, marks the first time that Horizon BCBSNJ has earned a place among the top 100 companies nationally in technology innovation. For the past 15 years, Horizon BCBSNJ has earned a place on InformationWeek’s Masters of Technology 500 list, and was named among the Top 250 Innovators the last two years.

In submitting its application for InformationWeek’s annual ranking, Horizon BCBSNJ highlighted the IT tools and new technologies it developed and deployed to strategically position the company to effectively serve its members upon the full implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
