Maponics, a leading provider of geospatial data, today announced that Matt Barnum has joined the Executive Team as the company’s new Vice President of Operations.
Barnum brings nearly a decade of GIS experience and 17 years of management experience to this key role. Barnum’s expertise lies in general business and operational management, engineering and technical oversight, project management and fostering high employee satisfaction.

Barnum spent the previous eight years at TomTom, where he headed the Location Based Services Product Unit, was Director of Enhanced Content and GIS Solutions and Director of Operational Planning, among other roles. Prior to joining TomTom, Barnum was the Manager of Client Solutions at McGraw-Hill Construction Research & Analytics.
“I’ve always been very interested in maps and mapping, and this position brings that together with my interest in statistics and geo-analytics,” explained Barnum.
Barnum’s appointment completes recent changes to the Executive Team at the company. In March 2014, Dan Adams was promoted from COO to CEO, replacing Founder and current Board Chairman Darrin Clement. The Executive Team is composed of Dan Adams, CEO; Mark Friend, Vice President of Sales & Business Development; Paul Gallagher, Vice President of Marketing & Product; and Matt Barnum, Vice President of Operations.
