WASHINGTON D.C (PRWEB) April 04, 2014

Jillian Bunyan, an Environmental Law attorney in the Philadelphia office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, served as a guest speaker at the Edison Electric Institute’s (EEI) Grid Talk: 2014 Advocacy and Engagement Forum on Distributed Generation. The Forum was held on March 25, 2014 at the EEI offices in Washington D.C.

According to its website, the EEI Forum is designed to facilitate conversation and interaction surrounding distributed generation and net-metering issues being discussed in states across the country. Forum attendees included senior executives, Washington Reps, industry partners, issue experts, and third-party stakeholders of the Edison Electric Institute.

Bunyan spoke on critical evaluation of solar microgeneration. On a panel of four experts, Bunyan discussed the social and environmental implications of net metering as currently applied across the United States. She presented two alternative compensation mechanisms that could encourage financing and structuring of large-scale renewables and could enhance environmental benefits. Bunyan and Ashley Brown of Greenberg Traurig’s Boston office are currently preparing a paper on this subject.

Bunyan's practice focuses on environmental matters including natural resource counseling and renewable energy restructuring as well as litigation surrounding Superfund, hydrofracking, and compressed natural gas.
