Morgan Hill Community Foundation Joins “Silicon Valley Gives” in First-Ever Local Day of Giving on May 6, 2014
Morgan Hill, CA (PRWEB) April 07, 2014 -- The Morgan Hill Community Foundation (MHCF) will join more than 500 non-profits in the Silicon Valley Gives event, a first-ever day of giving in our region that aims to inspire and unite local communities to support philanthropic causes.
Hosted by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) in honor of the 100th anniversary of community foundations, participating non-profits will raise money through a single online donation platform during a 24-hour fundraising effort to raise millions of dollars to benefit charitable organizations of all sizes – making a difference in the day-to-day lives in Santa Clara, San Mateo and San Benito counties.
Like the SVCF, the MHCF is committed to strengthening the common good locally and to foster a “give where you live” philosophy with its residents, civic groups, local small businesses and mid-size to large corporations operating in Morgan Hill.
“Silicon Valley Gives provides a phenomenal opportunity for anyone at any level to be a philanthropist for a day, and to make a real contribution to the quality of life here in Morgan Hill,” said Amy Whelan, President of the Morgan Hill Community Foundation. “We’re excited to mobilize the community over the next 30 days in the countdown to the May 6th event in support of MHCF and our partners. Stay tuned on our website, in local media and at the MHCF Silicon Valley Gives page for more information about how individuals and companies can get involved!”
