As well as taking up a challenge to mark the season of Lent, consider giving a loved one a gift that will enable others to lead a better life. Gift ideas from Present Aid's Lent shop include a floating garden (£18) - Providing seeds and training for farmers in Bangladesh to start a 'floating garden' growing and selling crops suited to wet conditions in this often flooded area.

Present Aid charity gifts for Easter include seeds for ten families (£25) in the Dominican Republic, allowing them to grow nutritious vegetables to dramatically improve their health and a relief package (£33) to provide a typhoon-affected family in the Philippines with much needed food, cooking utensils, toiletries, sleeping mats and blankets.
