Get Scheduled Pro is Selected as the Volunteer Management Solution for The 2014 Ryder Cup
Reading, Berkshire (PRWEB UK) 9 April 2014 -- Get Scheduled, Sports Technology Awards 2014 finalists, are selected as the volunteer management software provider for The 2014 Ryder Cup (http://www.getscheduled.co.uk/volunteer-management-software).
The 2014 Ryder Cup arrives at Gleneagles this September, with team Europe hoping to retain the cup from team USA.
The event will attract more than 250,000 spectators and will be supported by around 7,000 employed staff, marshals, volunteers, emergency service personnel and media representatives each day.
With a volunteer workforce of over 1800 and only a small administration team including some volunteers, a volunteer management software solution was required to simplify the management process and help ensure volunteer engagement from selection to deployment.
Get Scheduled’s cloud based workforce management software Get Scheduled Pro was selected for its advanced scheduling modules, communication tools and easy to use interface (http://www.getscheduled.co.uk/workforce-management-software).
Keith Ramplin, Head of Volunteers, said, “it is important to communicate properly with the volunteers, making sure they all get the right information at the right time, and that, as the event approaches they know exactly what their roles will be.”
Effective workforce management is vital to the success of this event and it is important to ensure that volunteers are in the right place at the right time and the software helps to match volunteer skill set with the roles they are assigned to. This helps to ensure all round satisfaction of visitors, players, sponsors and volunteers at this high profile sporting event (http://www.getscheduled.co.uk/getscheduled-pro/sports-major-event-management).
Since summer 2013 the volunteers have been logging into the Volunteer Portal, keeping them up to date with the latest news and important information including guides to accommodation and travel. They can see the role they have been assigned and update their personal details, including uniform sizes and ID photos.
A volunteer forum, a new feature from Get Scheduled, has been used for the first time, providing the volunteers with a place to discuss important topics and forge friendships before the event.
Get Scheduled’s General Manager, Jane Webber, said, “we are delighted to be working with The 2014 Ryder Cup team, especially as they are using some new features of Get Scheduled Pro, such as the Volunteer Forum. Our past successes at other high profile events is being recognized as we have been shortlisted for 3 different awards in just 5 months.”
The 2014 Ryder Cup is taking place September 23-28, 2014 at Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire, Scotland.
