We're trying to apply the same care to Distiller that distillers apply to their whiskeys. We want to provide a premium experience, serving the best bottle choices and making whiskey discovery easy and fun for our users.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 08, 2014

Distiller, the world’s first whiskey recommendation and discovery engine, today announced the launch of their mobile app for Android devices, available free in Google Play. Distiller’s app for Android follows the recent launch of their first mobile app for iOS in February, combining all the functionality of the Distiller web experience, with the convenience of personalized whiskey suggestions while on the go.

Highlights since launch include

·     More than 835,000 whiskey recommendations served
·     Over 3.2M page views
·     Ranked #1 in the Food/Drinks category
·     Remained in top 10 in Food/Drinks category for 10 days straight

“We were blown away by the reception of our iOS app, and always intended to have Android closely follow to make whiskey exploration more accessible for everyone,” said Mikael Mossberg, co-founder of Distiller. “We're trying to apply the same care to Distiller that distillers apply to their whiskeys. We want to provide a premium experience, serving the best bottle choices and making whiskey discovery easy and fun for our users.”

Whiskey consumption is booming worldwide. According to the Distilled Spirits Council, 2013 was a landmark year as American whiskey exports top $1.5 billion. Additionally, distilleries in the US have swelled from 70 to 623 in just 10 years, and are expected to reach 750 by 2014 according to the American Distilling Institute. Such increased popularity of whiskey make it difficult to try new options, and consumers are often influenced by price as a measurement of quality, or recommendations from bartenders or liquor stores looking for a sale. Distiller aims to help guide exploration through this growing world of whiskey, so that the pursuit for the perfect bottle is more approachable and engaging.

“The decision to build for Android comes from the surge in users we’re seeing on mobile. Our community is top priority, and we’ve fully committed to making Distiller accessible for everyone across web and mobile devices,” said Brent Stiefel, co-founder of Distiller.
