The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce awarded Rubin the 2014 Most Innovative Method of Marketing Real Estate Broker during a luncheon of more than 350 real estate professionals at the Loews Miami Beach on Thursday, March 27th.

Rubin took home the prize for the unique marketing tools used in the sale of Villa MerSoleil, a luxurious, two-story, 6,300 square foot residence on 1st Street and Ocean Drive on South Beach. The 5-bedroom, 7 bath home is for sale for $29,888,000 million dollars. Rubin’s marketing strategy centered around hosting a very, exclusive broker’s open party in November of last year that coincided with preparations for Art Basel Miami Beach, one of the most prestigious art shows in the world. She launched it specifically at that time to attract wealthy art collectors, who might possibly be on the lookout to purchase real estate as well.
Rather than send out the standard e-mail invite and blast, Rubin set the high-profile tone of the party with calligraphy invitations delivered to a guest’s home or place of business. She also created a coffee table book of the property, launched a website exclusively for Villa MerSoleil and helped produce a high-definition video tour of the property.

During the November event, guests were greeted with cocktails and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres created by Bill Hansen Catering, caterer to five past Presidents and Pope John Paul II. Guests left the event with a bag of swag, complete with a complementary Apple TV. Finally, Rubin topped it all off with hand written thank you notes to those who attended.
“The open house Melissa hosted was a first class event – it made every broker feel special and also very comfortable to spend time at Villa MerSoleil and relax with friends, wine and good food in an artful setting,” added Romanello.
Thirteen awards were given out during the second annual City National Bank Better Beach Awards. The awards honor the most influential and innovative leaders in the local real estate industry and are presented by the Chamber’s Real Estate Council, which serves the Chamber’s local Real Estate community.
Rubin went up against well-respected powerhouses in real estate including, Jay Parker, Attorney and CEO of Douglas Elliman Real Estate-Florida Brokerage and Mayi de la Vega, Founder and CEO of One Sotheby’s International Realty.
