Money Can Buy You LOVE + New Life Launches Their LOVE Campaign for Recovery!
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 08, 2014 -- Since 1985, New Life House has been teaching young men how to live sober, enjoy life on life’s terms and be of service where needed. They developed the LOVE movement as a way to demonstrate to the young men who walk through their doors that selfless service creates self esteem, a positive impact on the world and thus a desire to continue on the road of lasting sobriety. The guiding principles of unity, recovery and service place them in a unique position to give back when before they took too much.
New Life House kicked off the New Year by pledging 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their LOVE hats and hoodies to young men and women so that they can afford the price of recovery. They’ve found that there are ample resources for the addict who has nothing and the addict who has everything, however nothing for the young person in the middle. New Life House hopes to balance this out with needed scholarships for these guys and girls and give them a Second Chance at Life.
New Life House is actively identifying ways to directly help local families in the South Bay area. Future LOVE events planned are a partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of the South Bay, a summer surf camp to benefit inner city children and teens, both held in Manhattan and Hermosa Beaches, and more.
Love = Recognizing an indefinable kinship and demonstrating kindness with and towards our fellow man.
Outreach = Sharing the good fortune we have found in sobriety with the community in which we live.
Volunteer = Creating opportunities for New Life House to be of service wherever we are needed.
Educate = Giving the public accurate information about our mission and role.
New Life House recovery community in Los Angeles is 12 Step-based where house members are taught to identify character defects, take responsibility for their actions, and learn how to 'live life on life's terms' - not their own. They understand that quality sobriety requires a life change, not just stopping drug abuse or alcohol abuse. In turn, our house members are able to not only achieve long-term sobriety, but also become happy, healthy, and functional members of society.
